Effective January 2017 our students are now referred to as:
Lower School – Beginner (Age 3-6)
Upper School – Intermediate, Advanced and Adult (Age 7 & up)
Students are to present themselves in a polite, orderly and well-mannered way. All students MUST wear the required attire unless otherwise instructed. Students are to have their hair pinned up or in a bun for class. All belongings must be labeled and valuables are to be left at home. We are not responsible for any cell phones, gaming systems or MP3 players. Students must NOT leave dance class or the studio grounds without permission of the parent and/or teacher. No visitors allowed in the classes. No food, drink, or chewing gum allowed in the dance rooms. Effective 2017/2018 dance season, anyone taking Hip Hop must also take either a ballet or modern class.
There is a one time registration fee of $50.00. Open House and registration are usually held the last Saturday in August. $5 per week late fee will be assessed if tuition is paid after the 5th of the month. No checks are accepted. We accept cash, credit and debit cards. There is a $3.00 fee to use either a credit or debit card. A $1.00 per minute late fee is charged 10 minutes after your child’s classes are completed. Our program extends from the week after Labor Day, through the second week of June. Students are expected to enroll for the entire program. However, if you do take your child out early, no refunds will be given.
Mulberry (pink) leotard, light suntan tights, pink leather ballet slippers, black patent tap shoes with velcro. Pom students wear tan jazz boots and black dance shorts. Any color sneakers for hip-hop students – please no light up sneakers.
Upper School – Intermediates
Purple leotard, light suntan tights, light suntan canvas ballet slippers, black leather tie-up tap shoes, tan jazz boots. Pom students wear tan jazz boots and black dance shorts. Any color sneakers for hip-hop students.
Upper School – Young Adult/Adults
Black leotard, light suntan tights, light suntan canvas ballet slippers, black leather tap shoes, tan jazz boots. Any color sneakers for hip-hop students.
We follow Prince George’s County Public Schools for ALL day closings.
First Class Dance Studio presents its students in concert once a year. Our end of the year recital is normally the second Saturday and Sunday in June.
We have two mandatory fund-raisers per dance season. All students must participate or their account will be charged a fundraising fee.
